Abstract

This survey research aimed to determine the knowledge and execution of Ilonggo folk dances of Special Program in the Arts dance major students enrolled during the academic year 2015-2016. The respondents of the study were 43 randomly selected School for the Arts dance major students taken as an entire group and classified according to sex and grade level. A researcher-made paper-and-pencil test and a performance rubric adapted from Inayan (2014) were utilized to gather the needed data for the study. The result of the present study showed that the knowledge in Ilonggo folk dances of the respondents when taken as an entire group and when classified according to sex and grade level was "fair" and the level of execution in Ilonggo folk dances of SPA dance majors when taken as an entire group and when classified according to sex and grade level was "low skilled." No significant difference was noted in the level of knowledge and execution of Ilonggo folk dances of the SPA dance majors when classified according to sex and grade level.
