Arriving from Koronadal, I was there in Bacolod for Dwight Rodrigazo’s First C-MAP (Composition and Movement Analysis Program) Choreographers Festival International, 14-15 August. From what I know this is the first of such kind in the whole of Philippines’ South. The C-MAP project is based in Dwight Rodrigazo’s Dance\_Pull Center for the Performing Arts in Bacolod, but it has also run one in Quezon City. The project attracts dancers and choreographers from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. From what I know now, this kind has not been done for a long time. The NCCA used to conduct a series of the like nationwide, but it has been abandoned. Consistently carried on through 35 years is the 2-semester dance improvisation and composition class in UP’s College of Music. CCP’s summer workshops used to have its equivalent in the ‘70s.
