The Philippine Performance Archive is a pioneer digital humanities project of the University of the Philippines. Bringing together the University's expertise and excellence in the Arts and Humanities and its best practices in the digital sciences and technologies, it is the first comprehensive archive that consolidates distinctly Filipino performance practices - dances, rituals, festivals, and theatrical presentations - into an online multimedia database gathered from the different Philippine regions in collaboration and consultation with the constituent universities of the University of the Philippines System.
The Philippine Performance Archive is intended for scholars, practitioners, teachers, students, and general audiences of Philippine Dance, Cultural Performances, and Theatre. At the same time, it is an invitation for scholars and enthusiasts of dance, theatre, and performance studies and other related fields in the global arena to glimpse the richness and complexity of Philippine performing cultures.
